Welcome to the Home Page of Moray Employment Law!
If your need is for Employment Law advice – as an individual or a business – in Moray, we are here to help.
Work plays a big role in the lives of most people.
As an individual, Employment Law issues can have significant implications for you and your family.
The same applies if you are a business owner or manager.
The problems you face
As an employee, you may have concerns related to your holiday entitlement or unexpected deductions from pay – or you might feel you are being bullied at work.
For employers, it could be that you have an employee on long-term sickness absence and wonder what you can do to bring more certainty to the situation. Or you could suddenly have evidence that an employee is stealing from the business and require to take urgent action to investigate and invoke disciplinary procedure.
No matter which side of the employer / employee relationship you are on, problems in the workplace can cause you worry, take up your time and cost you money.
What we aim to do and how we are equipped to deliver
We are committed to the idea that everyone should have ready, local access to a specialist employment law solicitor and our aim is to provide that service.
We encourage all businesses to take a proactive approach to their Employment Law duties, believing that preventing problems arising – rather than solving them after the event – is the most cost-effective and efficient way.
The home of Moray Employment Law is in Elgin, Moray. We operate from the offices of Grigor & Young, Solicitors and Estate Agents, a law firm which has existed since 1828 and its current Elgin premises since at least 1835.
Four solicitors – Adelle Morris, Sarah Young, Neil Ross and Peter Brash – make up our team.
Adelle is our Employment Law expert, having specialised in that area throughout her career to date.
Referring to the assistance she received during her Employment Tribunal claim against her employer – in respect of sex discrimination, equal pay and wrongful dismissal – Joanne Batham said:
From the first phone call, I found Adelle to be very helpful and knowledgeable. I had no doubt throughout the case that I had chosen the correct solicitor.
Adelle was always available to talk through my concerns and it was more like talking to a friend than a solicitor. I was made me to feel at ease and Adelle and her team always took the time to answer even the most trivial of questions. Throughout the tribunal I was reassured and guided through every step. I was never left wondering what would happen next, as Adelle prepared me for every eventuality.
Ultimately, we won our case. I can never thank nor praise Adelle and her team enough. They made me feel part of that team and we celebrated the success together. I have recommended Adelle to several friends and would not hesitate to do so again. As much as I would never want to go through this again, I am glad I did as I got to meet a very special team whose priority is always the person that they represent.”
You can read Herald Scotland’s report of the outcome of the case.
We are part of the national network known as United Employment Lawyers, which means you have access to the highest possible level of Employment Law expertise and that we have the resources to deal with just about anything.
